Ramesh Will the Minister of HEAVY INDUSTRIES AND PUBLIC ENTERPRISES be pleased to satate :- (a) whether it is a fact that the Board for Reconstruction of Public Sector Enterprises (BRPSE) has recommended for revival package for sick/loss making Public Sector Units(PSUs) with an outlay of Rs.28,333 crore; and (b) if so, the details of the PSUs for which revival package has been recommended and the amount spent on those PSUs? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF HEAVY INDUSTRIES & PUBLIC ENTERPRISES (SHRI ANANT GEETE) (a) to (b): A statement is laid on the Table of the House. * * * Statement referred to in reply to Rajya Sabha Starred Question No. *159 asked by Shri C.M. Ramesh on “Revival Package for sick/loss making PSUs ” to be answered on 17.7.2014 (a): BRPSE has recommended revival of 58 CPSEs since inception in December, 2004 till 30.6.2014 envisaging total assistance of Rs.40,396 crores (cash assistance of Rs.10,768 crores in the form of infusion of funds, and non-cash assistance of Rs.29,628 crores in the form of waivers/write offs of interest/loans, conversion of loans into equity, etc.). (b): On the recommendations of BRPSE, the Government/holding companies have approved revival of 48 CPSEs as on 30.6.2014 envisaging a total assistance of Rs. 40,937 crores (cash assistance of Rs.10,940 crores in the form of infusion of funds, and non-cash assistance of Rs.29,997 crores in the form of waivers/write offs of interest/loans, conversion of loans into equity, etc.). The details are given in Annex-I. CPSEs are expected to utilize these funds as per approved revival plan.
